Fifty-five off-roaders from all over California assembled to hit the halls of the California capitol building. Armed with information about “Responsible Motorized Recreation” they were able to visit with all 120 legislative offices. They told their personal stories of generations that camped, hunted, fished, hiked and rode motorcycles, atv’s, jeeps on public land all over the state.
Later that evening the OHV groups hosted a reception at the Sutter Club, near the Capitol. Seventeen Legislators and staff dropped for a relaxing evening discussing the events of the day.
This was a fun day in the Capitol, it’s not often that you can visit with your Legislator and say thank you for helping our recreation of choice.
ORBA is in the planning stages for a similar day in Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado. We are also scheduling a trip to Washington DC this spring.
