HR1676 has cleared both the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee and heads to the Full House floor for vote as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) The House is expected to take up the Legislation quickly and pass it on to the Senate. The California Motorized Recreation Council (CMRC) is continuing to push all the way to the finish line as it attempts to raise $31,000 this week to secure the services of the Livingston Group and pass both the Senate and the House. If passed into law Johnson Valley would be the first of its kind nationally protected OHV area. “We can see the finish line after a long hard battle” Said CMRC Save the Hammers Chairman Jeff Knoll. “This effort has been widely successful because we have proven the OHV industry can work together and formulate a plan that looks for solutions” Knoll continued.

We rarely solicit contributions from our ORBA members, but we are asking for ORBA members to participate this week, and make sure we take this battle all the way to the finish. Falken Tire has issued a challenge to the Off-road community this week in honor of father’s day offering matching funds, up to $5000.00. Please consider helping the effort by calling the ORBA office and making a donation this week.
